The oil and gas industry includes the global processes of exploration, extraction, refining, transporting (often by oil tankers and pipelines), and marketing petroleum products. The largest volume products of the industry are fuel oil and gasoline (petrol). The industry is usually divided into three major components: upstream, midstream and downstream.
Encompass supports the development of oil & gas projects through all three phases. Through the upstream process well packages are created for exploration, and certified plats for land acquisition. Through the midstream phase gathering systems are routed and as-builted as newly installed lines are brought online. Through the downstream process Encompass supports station layouts for new construction, provides HDS scanning for the 3D Modeling of new assets, and supports the needs of integrity with remediation surveys and pig timing.
Electric-power transmission is the bulk transfer of electrical energy, from generating power plants to electrical substations located near demand centers. This is distinct from the local wiring between high-voltage substations and customers, which is typically referred to as electric power distribution. Transmission lines, when interconnected with each other, become transmission networks.
Encompass principals have contracted and overseen the success of hundreds of miles of overhead power transmission expansions. Through the routing, platting, design and as-builting of these projects we have the ability to see our client’s needs fulfilled from conception to completion.
Today, the U.S. wind industry is delivering over 48,000 megawatts (MW) of electrical energy capacity to the grid. With the goal to produce 20% of generation with wind power by 2030, the industry needs the expertise of Encompass to support their development needs.
With years of experience and involvement of thousands of MW of development in the wind and renewable markets, Encompass recognizes the complex nature of our client’s projects and offers comprehensive services that includes pre-design and gis mapping, siting and land acquisition, aerial mapping and LiDAR, ALTA-ASCM Land Title Surveys, construction staking, micro-siting, and as-built surveys.
From underground fiber and cable lines, to overhead phone, Encompass is experienced in supporting the needs of the telecommunications industry. Its principals have extensive experience overseeing the measurement of proposed line depths and vertical offset distances essential to construction. All Encompass field personnel are Operator Qualified in the locating of underground utilities, having the requisite experience for establishing available areas for installation within congested right of way corridors.
Municipalities have a perpetual need to maintain the quality of its road, sewer, and waterline infrastructures. Encompass has seen all types of these municipal requests over the years, and has the capability to collect all required field information in order for us to plan, design and as-built all types of municipal improvements. Encompass is registered in 17 States in order to legally certify and file the work we complete.
